Leveraging Columnstore to improve performance while reducing storage needs

SQL Server columnstore is a new and different paradigm compared to traditional indexing strategies. This session will discuss columnstore architecture and use cases so that you can better choose the right indexing strategy for your workload.


Dan Guzman is an IT professional with over 30 years of experience in database administration, development, and architect roles.  Dan's been using SQL Server since version 4.21 and engaged in the SQL Server community since 1996, participating in SQL Server newsgroups, speaking at conferences and user groups, and helping answer SQL Server questions in the StackOverflow, StackExchange, and Microsoft MSDN community forums. In recognition for sharing for sharing his technical expertise with the SQL Server community, Dan has received the Microsoft Data Platform MVP award annually since 2001.
