Title:  SQL Server Indexing Strategies

This is an intermediate level presentation on SQL Server indexing strategies.  A brief review of traditional b-tree and memory-optimized index structures is followed by a methodology for choosing the right indexes, including primary key and unique constraint indexes, for both new applications and existing ones.

Jerrod Early is a SQL Server DBA since the ripe young year of 2013.  Jerrod is an avid reader of all things SQL Server and loves to learn as much as he can in the area as well as share what he learns.  He is currently a Senior SQL Engineer and the SQL Server Team Lead for the Managed Services group at Oakwood Systems Group.

Title: What’s This Azure Thing Anyway?

Everyone’s always talking about Azure!  Azure, Azure, AZURE!  This is a lessons learned discussion around deploying SQL Server in Microsoft’s Azure IaaS offering.  What does the underlying Azure architecture look like, what are some of the best practices around deploying SQL Server in Azure IaaS VMs and how should you deploy AlwaysOn implementations in a shared, hosted environment?
